AT Pro - CZ21 - Minelab Excalibur..W/Doc's Treasure Amp

Meet up with some great guys, RatPack, EZswing (bob CZ21), Synthnut (jim AT Pro) shared some great stories and idea's. Learned alot about the CZ21 10 inch, AT Pro, Amped Excalibur 10 inch,...did a few test/compares with 3 different size Gold rings in the wet sands, got all on video with some surprising results. Leaving out alot of the details..the CZ21 was the only detector that could get a solid hit on the 15 inch deep 7.5 gram ring, the excal could see the target but it was far from something you would recognize if you did not know it was there, very faint. Preveious test the excaibur with the amp the ring came in at 12-14 inch's in OC Maryland...this test a good solid hit at 14 inch's, This was OC New Jersey. With the AT PRO seeing the ring at 9 inch's. Results could be different at your beach due to the matrix of the sand, this beach had heavy Black sand. Hope maybe we can get more hunters next time out to share so interesting results...Thanks to Bob and Jim for making the trip down from NY....

It is ashamed that someone didn't have a Sovereign GT with a 15" WOT or SEF 12" x 15" Coil, I just wonder how deep that ring would have been buried then....

hh OBN, and thanks for sharing the video & info, great road trip, too bad it wasn't a little warmer.....

VERY NICE video Joe. Now someone is going to ask if the detectors with the low serial numbers are deeper.

Thanks

And the winner is the CZ. Nice Vid ! Thanks for posting . It looks like the AT pro gets fairly poor depth... :icon_scratch: Heard so much about them I thought they would do a bit better. Maybe it was the salt beach.

I did have my WoT excal along but just wanted to see how the 10 inch preformed in the Jersey Sands. Next trip will test for sure.

What is "Doc's Treasure Amp"
It's A audio Amp that amplifies the audio 6x
Long story short, the Excalibur in the PP/almetal mode only, has signals/threshold just like the Minelab Pi's. Stock, You run the threshold as low as possible, just audible on the excal. Even that low the threshold still covers faint signals. With the amp turned on you are able to split the two, like stereo, as you lower the threshold even more these target signals that were covered are now exposed, the Amp boost the signals that once were covered. I have tried the amp on many detectors and other then the ML PI's, and the excal..It just amps the mono audio. More in Pic's

Poor compared to these two detectors but a stock excalibur would have been very close to the same. If I remember correctly, and I have to look it up, but in another location just south a few hundred miles, the excalibur got the large gold between 8-10 inch's. So the ATPro does do well for what it is. Bob's CZ is one of a few that are just Hotter then most, I believe, plus bob is a excellent tuner of his machine from experance. One thing you do have to keep in mind, the coil of the fisher CZ is concertic, the excal's is a DD...this can dictate on which to use where and get the best performance.
