AT Pro Coil Question

I purchased the AT Pro just last Saturday and on Monday I called Garrett and told them that I get a tone on all 3 areas of the coil....for instance I get a tone on the left outer edge...then the middle... and then the right outer edge when I pass over a target. Well, they sent me a new machine that I just received today and it does the same thing.....is this "normal"?

I would also like to know how people run their AT Pro...settings, mode etc.

Pinpoint to the center of the coil, do not worry about response at the outer perimeter of the coil. Learn to de-tune the pp and find the best response at the center of the coil which is the sweet spot. You should already have a good idea of the location just by a bit of waggling around the target. Try to determine the exact location by waving, then do a precision pp. I have no more difficulty pinpointing with the pro than with older circular concentric coils, other than I have to do a couple X's to really be sure. Use small round targets on clean ground and you will see all of this. You can pull the coil away from target until the signal goes away, and that is the target location, at the edge of the coil. This is a method that baffles me but it surely must have some advantage as many use this method. Don't give up J-dude.
