Hi all, I bought a AT pro about 6 weeks ago ans right out of the box the volume isnt very loud, other times it seems fine. I really like this detector but it drives me nuts sometimes. Has anyone else had any problems with theirs? I hate to have to send it back already but I mayt have to...I've changed batteries coils etc. seems like the coupler possibly for the coil..not 100% sure though. I'm gonna try my head phones to see if it does it then. Thanks

No problems with audio other than it not being very loud coming on speaker. I wish there was a way to adjust it. Coming through the headset--no problems at all.

You can go to radio shack and get a little amplifier about $12.00 to amplify the audio.

The AT Pro is meant to be used with headphones. There isn't a volume control on the head unit. If you are trying to use it without headphones, you'll miss a lot of the weaker signals due to outside noise. It could be a loose connection on the internal speaker if the volume cuts in and out...

Check it with the headphones and let us know if it's working correctly with them.

If you ever used the Ace series of detectors from Garrett you'd be jumping for joy at the muted audio of the At series. But yeah the detectors are really made to be used with headphones. You'll miss so much without them. I doubt your detector is bad its just how it's designed.
