have been perusing the elusive silver coin for 11 months with my MXT. I even sought help in the last few days from many of the fine members of this forum. I put many of there suggestions to use yesterday in a hunt with my detecting buddy around Anderson and Pendleton IN. Well thanks to the sage advice my goal was finally achieved. MXT rocks!!! We were working a city park in Pendleton IN. and found some clad when all at once I got an 85VDI at 5 inches. All of the other VDI readings were at 82 to 83 VDI readings which resulted in a clad quarter and can slaw. at 2 to 3 inches. I just knew the 85 VDI had to be silver. I pinpointed and dug and there it was in all of its shining glory my first silver quarter. My faith renewed in the ability of the MXT to fine silver. Here are the pictures along with some clad and a toy auto found at a Tot Lot.

Congrats, job well done. I am still looking for my first silver. Someday soon I hope. Once you find one they start to come in bunches, I've heard!!!

Congrats on your silver quarter...I'd say you were doing everything right, just not putting the coil over silver, which you did today!! Sweet find!!

Nice. Congrates!!!

I'll get mine for sure this year then... I'm still do not have one. But I'm using a Fisher F2 low modle but great coin hunter. I've found 4 indians so far.
