I have an AT Gold on the way. I am reading the instruction manual and was wondering about iron audio. The instructions say it is not recommended to search with iron audio on in all metal mode. You should just use it to check targets. My question is: Can I keep Iron audio on in disc mode? I thought I saw videos of guys hunting with iron audio on.

You can use Iron Audio in any mode. When you are working in trashy areas it will sound off all the time and you might miss a faint target. So usually I use it only to check targets.

Signal Line is right. About the video's we see on YouTube. You have to remember that unless it is from a manufacturer, the person using the MD may be a newbie or not know what they are doing in the video's.

I swear that's what Bill Ladd was doing in the video he made on the AT Gold in heavy iron. Now I am confused

You can run iron audio on all the time in disc mode. You might miss a few faint targets, the purpose of a threshold is to be able to hear faint changes in threshold signals.
