Astounding waste

Tons of frozen food tossed out at a local targets, 2 full roll off dumpsters.
No power outages around here, not sure why they tossed out so much food.

They probably had a power outage just in that one building. Once that happens, all those foods have to be tossed. Sad

Local pie maker would throw out pies everyday ,cases of them that have expired.A friend would collect some 2x a week and feed his pigs.He grew some BIG pigs

It is such a waste - and a very common one. My first legal job as a teenager was in retail in 1971 and there was actually an employee that came by the store once a week, to physically smash returned items. When I pointed out that many of these items could be donated to charities and that I was willing to help in such an endeavor, I was told that the store had already accounted for the returns and did not want some dumpster diver to bring them in to argue for a refund to which they were not entitled.
