I need assistance in getting info (age) on the silver ring I found a few months ago while detecting a football field.
Marked 925 with a makers mark of m&o has the obvious Flur De Lis pattern.
The only thing I can find is m&o possibly made silverware in the early 1800s.
Can I get who this company was and when this ring could have been made?

Thanks

.925 is a fairly modern notation. Back in the 1800's they used Sterling.

Thanks cuda.
I understand that just because I read it in the Internet DOES NOT make it true, but I am seeing references that stamping 925 on silver in the US started in 1868.
I am thinking though and am pretty sure this is not an 1800s ring (darn) but more apted to believe that this ring maybe from the 1970s era.
I am still wondering about the b&o makers mark.

looks pretty modern to me
No patina
did you clean it?
Having said that, great find

Yes I cleaned it pretty well. It was actually bent up and dirty.
