assay black sands?

do any of you ever have the heavies in your pan assayed? here on cook inlet the black sands can be very hard to seperate so a friend of ours suggested that there may be platinum and rhodium in there, we're waiting results from a nevada assayer. it would be a real hoot if all the black sand weve been throwing back on the beach was worth as much as the gold!
