Hi All,

I have no clue what this is other than a possible ashtray...I have searched high and low to find out what it is but no-one can help. My mother-in-law actually found this for $1...but no clue what it is or if it is worth anything. Can you help? Thank you

World War II 5th US Army Division A5 Combat Infantry.. Value ? Probably some. A lot of people collect military stuff. Do a search on Ebay for WWII military ashtrays. If I had to guess ? $40-$50

Nice ashtray. Nice token of the 5th Army, now known as Army North.

The United States Army North is a formation of the United States Army Service Component Command of United States Northern Command. As the joint force land component command, it is responsible for homeland defense and defense support of civil authorities. It is garrisoned at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. From early January 1943, when it was first created during World War II, under the command of Lieutenant General Mark Wayne Clark, until 2004, it was previously designated as the United States Fifth Army.

Welcome to TreasureNet !!

Your ashtray might also be called Trench Art. It may have originally been part of another piece of equipment then fashioned into the ashtray.
For example, many a spent 75MM M5AI Type I brass shell casing were converted to ashtrays.
Don.....

Thank you - I was wondering that as well...especially since I cannot find anything that looks like it however it really looks like it was done with some sort of cast mold.

Pretty nice piece of history
