An intriguing find. I was looking to dig up some Civil War artifacts at the beach on SPI when I got a hit near the road bed on South Padre here. The pointed thing I dug up I knew was not an Civil War fuse. It wound up being a early 1900 Artillery fuse, and so did it's brothers and sisters!! All 10 of them, 11 total. A little history work and I found out that the area I was detecting was used as a pratice range for the US Army under Pershing when they posted quite a few units down here to help keep Pancho Villa out of the Rio Grande Valley!! I thought it was a neat find. After the first one I kept hitting them about 3 in deep. It was a fun day. Should I go home today and bang on em with a hammer to see if any are still live?? :laughing9:
