artillery button with robinson jones & co

I found this at a old rock foundation in the middle of the woods outside Reisterstown Maryland. The backmark says Robinson Jones & co. and the A stands for artillery. Anyone have any other info? I am a newbie at this. This was our (myself and my two 8 year old sons) first time out.

Re: artillery button with robinson jones & co

Thanks! I wish I had a MD when I was a kid. I used to mess around and find alot of pottery but that was 20 years ago. It's nice to know a secret spot that was pre-civil war and untouched. Too bad I moved 2 1/2 hours away. But I did move to the beach, so that should be fun.

Wow,Sniper, that's a good start to your metal detecting hobby! I'd gladly drive 2 1/2 hours to try that place again.
