Artifact or just a strange rock?

I found this strange rock in a bag with my Mexican beach stones. The marks seem to connect in a way that one might assume it was wrapped with something at some point. Super curious to see what you think! Thanks

Not just a rock. A rock that endured fractures which later had calcite form in the cracks. Geologically a hard worker.

But not an artifact. That would mean human alteration. None evident in your rock.
