[h=3]About the Artist[/h]Born in New York in 1944, Karen Levy is an artist with diverse talents and creative skills. She attended the Brooklyn Museum Art School and in 1960 received a scholarship to New York University. Graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cooper Union, she continued her training in painting in India at Trivani Kala Sangam. She also studied engraving in London.
With an exellent reputation as a book illustrator, Levy has been commissioned by numerous publishing houses, including Holt, Winston and Rinehart; Crown and South American Bilingual Books. A partial list of her shows include Lum-ley Gallery, London; American Associated Artists, Brooklyn Museum Print Show, New York; Newark State College, N.J., University of Nevada and Biennale, Chile (1970).
