What kind of metal do you think it is made of?? Is it magnetic?? It just looks too modern to me....

Looks to large to me for an arrow head, perhaps knife or spear/atl atl point.

Looks like old pot metal to me. Conversation piece? Maybe a souvenir piece?

I'm going to jump out there and say it's not even close to a real Indian artifact. I really don't think Plains Indians were metal workers and I'm going to bet the metal arrowheads used by the plains Indians were traded for. Most likely from other Indians with Spanish influence (Maybe Navajo), Comancheros,Mexicans or Spaniards. Those arrows where most likely made from hoop steel (barrel hoops) or something similar(not aluminum) and I don't think they would bare the resemblance of the one you have posted. I'm thinking they would have been very simple , thin and slender. The one you found in your yard resembles a flint knapped style of an arrowhead or lance point. One thing I know for sure it's a cool find and I may be dead wrong! I hope when you find out for sure you keep me in the loop about what it really is. I'm very interested. Thank You! Good luck and good hunting!!:icon_thumright: The Kid

No detachment point that i can tell. I'm pretty sure it was not made by Native Americans. It is a porous type metal. Just a conversation piece I guess. Top of a fence or something seems legit, but its just as sharp on the bottom as it is on the sides. Thanks for all the replys !!!!!
