I love AZ, been there many times. I am a guy who has salt water running through my vains but I have a real soft spot for that State. If you have never been there you really should try and visit it and get off the beaten path.

Pretty view.

Beautiful shot. Good thing it wasn't a 130 years ago you took that trail.:laughing7:

Yeah, Every time I pass through these places, I think it looks like a good place to be ambushed by Indians.:laughing7:

That looks like one of the first "Homeland Security" photo's.

Great shot Ron, perfect exposure to my eyes:thumbsup:. You are one lucky guy to get to see all that fine scenery, gotta get me to the States soon methinks. Are you using an HDR setting, if not you should really think about publishing some of your work and RGINN, IT'S BLOODY GREAT. If I can get published I'm damn sure you guys can. Anyway, keep up the good work, it's really good to see you guys post what you see.

great photograph...caught the colors:headbang:

I spent ten years looking for the site of that photograph...it is at the opposite end of the state...
the photograph was taken by C.S. Fly...out of tombstone.
Interesting. I'm thinking the picture is staged and the rifes are unloaded. Not sure they'd trust Geronimo with a loaded gun. I had all of Arizona as a territory in the past. I sure do miss going down that way. I do though have Fredonia and head down through to some nice country in southern Utah. I stay at the Parry Lodge in Kanab when I'm down that way. They have all these autograph signed pictures of the old western movie stars in the Parry. The lodge owner has one picture of the cast of a movie played by the original 'Rat Pack' Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis Jr., Dear Martin & Frank Sinatra. The movie was called 'Sergeants 3' and the cast stayed at the Parry Lodge long ago. There's a photocopy of that Rat Pack signed photo above the exit door. The original signed picture is in a vault. I wonder what the value of the original signed photo of all 4 "Rat Pack" members would be worth?

the photograph was taken PRIOR to the surrender...only Geronimo knows if his weapon was loaded.
there are several reports of the occasion both civilian and military accounts.

staged? yes...cs fly was a photographer...glass plate...please stand still an smile for the camera.

I shall never tire of such beautiful places. The highway (40) going east to Kingman (AZ) has similar vistas. Beautiful. Tnx. Everyone needs to do what Stienbeck did in his book... Travels with Charlie. Get off the super-highways and re-discover the "little place" of this great country. TTC
