Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Will be spending the winter in Tucson Arizona and West Texas.
Interested in maybe doing a hunt or two, but don't know where to get started .
I have a Minlab Safari metal detector and would love to try my luck.
Any info on locations on public land would be a start.
I do have a small collection of meteorites so kinda know the look and will be testing them under the detector to see what numbers they show.

Your machine is NOT good for meteorite hunting. You want an All Metal machine like the Fisher Goldbug II, or a Minelab pulse induction machine.

Be sure to check out the known strewnfields near Tucson. Clay has a meteorite map on his site, maybe someone can put up that link. :skullflag:

Was hoping my machine would be acceptable, that may put a damper on that plan:-(

Your detector will see an iron meteorites but with a stone will have some problem. My suggestion is a Spectra V3i (for stony meteorites). You must have additional features like spectra analyzer.
