Maybe not that old, but still a nice bunch of coins. Plus being able to hunt overseas is cool in itself. :)
I arrived 2 days ago and will be here for 5 weeks. It's my 3rd trip and I love it here. I've metal detected here before and dug some super old silvers. Hopefully I can hook up with some local detecorists and get in a good area.

Hope you find a good spot and a lot of old coins! Good luck!

Good start, Hopefully you do hook up with some local detectorists and get taken to a old sight. You are in England after all ! , Silver coins are awesome, but you could dig up some Roman or Viking stuff while you're over there. Finds you have zero chance of ever digging back across the pond. Good Luck!

As we used to say, you found a Ship Ha'Penny.
Hi Crusader,
Do you know of any MD clubs or contacts in the Mildenhall Cambridge area.
Thanks

I'm visiting my daughter who is stationed with the Air Force in England. My daughters house is only a 3 minute walk from an old pub with an outdoor eating area. I got permission from the owner to hunt the grass area. 47 coins were found, unfortunately all were modern.
Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice finds and a great job cleaning up the trash. My wife and I travel to Europe in October. I have a detector that breaks down easily. Are there any flight or TSA restrictions or requirements of bringing a detector on a flight? Thank you.

Above is the list of Clubs not sure which is the closest. Don't forget to look up the Treasure Act rules which recently got amended & are far more complicated, including the new rules on Export licences.

Where in England are you? I was at RAF Mildenhall 73-74. Curious to see what you might find. Have fun. I always did!

You still found a lot of cool coins for your collection that you'd never find at home - well done !
As already mentioned, see if you can find any other older sites in the area to hunt ?

Good hunting and keep us updated on any other finds you make !

Good bit of fun digging a new place, I'm sure! Good to see that the trash is on par with what I'm used to seeing from trashy Americans. (or is that a place where American tourists hang out?)

I had no issues bringing my detector here. I broke it down to 4 pieces and put it in the check in luggage.

I hope other Americans behave themselves over here. I always respect the laws in the country I'm visiting. I remove any trash and dispose of it properly and I recycle the brass and copper.
Any American that throws his trash on the ground must be from southern California and a LA Dodger fan.๐Ÿคช

Not sure about carrying it on the plane and putting it in the overhead compartment?
I always put it in the big 50 pound check in luggage.
