hello all
I'm at my site in Virginia that my brother and I go to every Thanksgiving
we're a little bit south of the main site that we hunt and we came across these bullets and I'm not sure if they are of. And if they are civil war
1416776312926.jpg could someone let me know we're still at the site right now

They do appear to be Civil War but I cant' tell by the photo exactly which kind.

I'm not the bullet person, but yes, they appear to be CW bullets. For us to make an identification, we'll need the size/diameter, height, and weight would be nice.

Neat finds :)

The bullets look like they are possibly jacketed. If the outer shell of the bullet is copper or a copper alloy and the inner is lead, then no. Lightly scratching the outer surface with a knife blade will tell the story. As said above a little precise information on size and weight will go a long way in the ID. They resemble .45 ACP to me. Though the outer is a white chalky look similar to oxidized lead I have dug jacketed bullets encrusted with earth that appear similar. Anxious to hear after you give a little more info. Either way congrats and HH

PS .... A measured outer diameter of approximately .452 and a weight of 230 grains (.525 oz) will confirm .45 ACP

I agree with the .45 Automatic Colt Pistol jacketed lead

.45 "Always"
