It's been a long time since i have posted anything but I do visit often. I recently had to go to the Philippines for my job and bought these coins while I was there. I don't know if they are real or not since I am not that knowledgeable on coins. If they aren't no bigg loss, I only paid $30.00 bucks for them but they look so cool I had to have them. If anyone knows let me know. I checked PGS but couldn't really tell there were so few pictures of the coins. Thanks for taking the time to look and sharing any knowlege you may have on them. My guess is they aren't. I just looked at the 1804 and from what PGS has ite worth a boatload. LOL! I can only wish it is.

I'm no expert in US coins. But I think your guess is right. They don't have the 'right look' & are in great condition.

As you said, you don't post here often so you may not know there's a new policy that Marc the owner has about saying real or fake so I'm not sure where that fits in on this post. So I'll hold my opinion for now. That said I'd like to point out that if these coins are not the real deal that would make them counterfit. If you've returnd to the U.S. welcome back and luckily no one spotted these and alerted customs, you might of gotten in trouble. I'm not sure about the legalities of being in possesion of counterfit coins (just in case these are ) but you might should find out real quick what with this being a world wide accessed site. If they are real, WOW lucky you !

I will post a picture of the two I believe have the best possibility of being real.

You can have an opinion if the person asks the question, read the policy. However this would be better in the what is it forum.

They are from the Philippines, I don't think that rule applies to any post mentioning that country. I mean there are 25 treasure stories for every man woman and child. ::)

There are more unscrupulous dealers of counterfeit coins and cash there than you can even imagine.

My apologies for not keeping up on the rules. I didn't know. I will be sure to go and read up on everything again. I was just curious on them and wanted to post them. If Marc feels this needs to be deleted or moved I completely understand. Thanks for your replies and I am stationed on Guam but will check with customs prior to me leaving here. if they are counterfeit as I suspect and I need to turn them it i will do so. Not a big deal. I will also see if there is a coin dealer here and get confirmation. Thanks folks for the heads up on everything.

I'm not sure you broke any rules (you are allow to ask if the are fake, we just can't say they are unless you ask the question), you just made the mistake of asking the question in the wrong forum. Lots of people do that including myself.

They are Definately Fake But I would not call them Counterfeit
As they are not close enough to the real thing.

This is My opinion.

Having spent almost a year there.. 2 West PACS, ahh.. and since the poster asked?? Fake!!! the best I would hope for is "some" silver in them.. and you didn't get a butterfly knife in you as you walked away!!! ;-) Just my humble opinion... no more.. no less..

Or do more searches by typing in TRADE DOLLARS.

On a side note, tell my daughter Momma sends her love ;D (she's stationed at the Naval Hospital, in the OR...a surgical tech). Thank You

Please let me alert you to a cool coin that should be available in the Philippines if you look. During the Commonwealth from 1935 til 1941 they issued a silver dollar that had "two front sides". One side said "1 Dollar United States" and the other side said "1 Piso Filipino". They are actual mint coins not fantasy. Look it up in a good coin book before you go so you won't get stuck.

Actually, THAT's second. First is melting them into bullets and firing them out of a gun at Vampires. :D
