Yes sir it would be better if I had time to clean them and a better camera "phone". On the first piece , the one notch on top has 6 percussion marks and the bottom notch has been ground down with grinding marks in one direction . As I also note it was a recent wash out of the bank our creeks are nothing but rock the receive not polish but ruff abrasions on all raised edges this piece IMOP best fits a net weight . The other pieces being chert have worked edges the second is worked on the inside curve "spokeshave" the third worked edges and worked tip probably an awl or engraver after inspection 1 fits nice in hand 2 worked edges 3 percussion marks 4 and sometimes most important location and context . I read A LOT haha and I look at tons of archeologist sites or museum sites and I study there photos , the worst thing you could do is get info from eBay you really don't know where the info comes from . I ask many questions and I talk to as many experts that I can find I don't post many arrowheads because we all know they are facts ... Hope this helps I'm no expert but I have a pretty good idea when looking and touching an item if its been altered by man ... If all worked edges are the same color chances are they occurred at the same time
Wait till I show the rest of them then you might want to grab a bucket lol Come on over ill bring you there and you can look for metal pieces everyday I would like to see what you find
If people swim there often and from long ago, then there is a good chance for some nice jewelry to be found along with perhaps some silver coins. Good luck.
There have been people in that hole for a long time !!!! I can think of one murder there and a lot of other stories but when it floods it would blow your mind how big it gets
If you have a detector, - HUNT IT! Might be a lot of trash to put up with but take the time and pull that out of the way along with the clad coins. It looks to me from the picture that you posted, it will be just a matter of time until you get to the gold and silver rings lost there. JMO
Yes they will..but.. the better detectors will give different signals based on conductivity of different metals..and even give you the option to discriminate iron right out so it won't alert it at all.
