Today I FINALLY got a box of halves right at the Silver Vein!!

Got a 1952 Ben, 3x 40%s (1968,1968,1969 in 1 roll!) in just 5 rolls I popped, 43 more to go.

I mylar-ed the '52 and found out the rotation isnt right:

Can you tell me if its normal like that? (the one on the right side)

By the way if you read 43 rolls, its not a typo, the box was opened one side with a rubber band on the box and I left the branch hastely without seeing details.

I bet the 2 missing rolls had tons of 90%s, I should tell the teller tomorrow right? She greets me very nicely all the time so it would be OKAY right? thanks and HH!!

1/14/12 update:

I used a triplet 10x loupe to look at the possible seams on the edges and found no seams compared that to the Kennedy magician coins I found.

I used the sound test and it sounds like a 90%er.

I dont have a gram weight but I concluded its a real ben with a slight rotation error, in fact I have another one but that one rotates to the left.

I also went to the teller, told her what happened, she immediately gave me 2 rolls after talk to her vault manager for like 15 seconds.

The box yielded:
1 1952
1 1967
3 1968
1 1969

Thanks and HH

Could be a magician's coin. Weigh it, drop it for sound testing.

I would talk to the teller about it without being pushy about it. Ask if there is anything that can be done. Don't be demanding about it. If you approach it right, you have nothing more to lose, only $20 to gain.

The die rotation looks slightly off but not significant. For it to be worth more as a die rotation mistake, it needs to be off more like 90 to 180 degrees. That one looks to be 5-10 degrees off.

Magicians coin is what I thought at first, too. I have half a a magician's Buffalo nickel that a frien gave me but I have never found or seen a magicians half. If it is, that's cool and if it isn't, it's still a great find!
