So i go into a bank asking for halves and was told some one had just called asking for halves older then 1962. She then asked if there were any other "silver" coins to be had. Lucky for me the tellers werent paying attention and i ended up with two 40%ers.

What were you thinking? "Are there any other silver coins?" What do you say next - You know , the ones worth almost 30 times face value. Even tho that .50 half is worth $14 I heard i can come here and get them for fifty cents each.

I should have been a rocket scientist.

I do not ask for "silver", just older half dollars because I am "trying to make a set" of them.

My uncle is a banker and he said he knew a bank manager that made all the tellers cull silver for him. Said he did it for YEARS. Dude is probably in the Bahamas or something right now.....

The moron who telephoned the bank should be horse whipped.

There are some real dumb people in this world.. they just screw it up for everyone.

At first I thought it funny; now it just seems tragic. For every one of us here, there are 10 hunters that aren't. ffd

:laughing9: :laughing9: I was in my bank one day and another person came in and asked for silver halves but the teller say's "they don't get many halves but when they do we save them for him" and she pointed at me and the guy just turned around and gave me the thumbs up. :laughing9: :laughing9: Never did get to talk to him about mentioning silver but my tellers know all about the silver. :laughing9: :laughing9:
