Are all lesche diggers the same? And what pinpointer do u recommend??

I beleive all Lesche diggers are the same although I've seen different color handles but that should not effect their quality...

I love my Sunray inline pinpointer but they are rather expensive. I hear the pinpointer sold at Harbor Freight is not bad and it is very inexpensive...under $20 dollars but I've never actually used one.

Good luck

PS I always buy my Lesches on ebay and have never paid more then $35. I've lost two so far.

The pin pointer discussion has been talked about over and over and over... pretty much there are two categories... Junk and not Junk. and it boils down to the old adage... You get what you pay for. the cheep ones break and the good ones are a bit costly but well worth it. I have a Garrett Pro Pointer and I have learned the quality lesson long long ago... I wouldn't have another unless it was better and I won't hunt with out it!

There are Lesche diggers made by Lesche, then there are Predator Tools diggers made by George Lesche, the originator of the Lesche digger. Long story short, George Lesche once owned Lesche Tools and made the "Lesche" digger. Now, George owns Predator Tools and makes several different tools that you could find usefull while out detecting, they are all well built.

As for pinpointers, I've had the Centech handheld metal detector from Harbor Freight and the Garrett ProPointer. The Harbor Freight detector is OK, it will do a decent job. It's not very durable, but for less than $20, it's pretty good. The Garrett ProPointer is a good pinpointer, its well built, it has good depth, variable sound and vibration in relation to the target. It costs about $130 or so...

Leshe hand diggers are all the same. Garrett pro pointer as others of said is THE one to get. I would waste $ on one till you can get it. It's THAT much better!
Holler if I can help with either one.

I love Predator Tool's shovels and diggers...hard to beat.

I'm using the Harbor pinpointer. It works pretty good.
I am on my second one. The first one fried out within one week. They replaced it free with no hassles!

It's very cheaply built, and finicky. I want a Garrett. If the Harbor too was so terrific, I suppose I wouldn't be wishing I had a Garrett every time I went out!

Yes the "Lesche" diggers knifes are the same, and are a good addition to your arsenal. Personally I have used every pin pointer I could get my hands on so I might sound like I know what I am talking about when I sell them. :laughing7: The two I recommend are the Garrett Pro pointer, and the Detector Pro Pistol Probe. The Detector Pro is the dominant of the two. If you have the money to spend, get the Detector Pro.

Woodland...what are your thoughts on the Sunray Inline probes. I've used the White's Bullseye which I did not like and the Sunray which I love but since that is all I used I don't know if there is a better mouse trap out there.

Thanks

Good choice!! Search YouTube for the Propointer trick to get more depth.....it works, I use it all the time!!

Good Luck!

As usual, another point of view. The lesche diggers are good and basically the same, But do you need one? It depends on the soil and mixture of your ground. In a trip up to Elk county I found that it was much easier to "dig" with a 3 prong hoe because of the rock composition of the soil. It has an adjustable handle out to 36". It has a bright red handle so it was easy to spot. I got it from a garden supply store. I think it was $15. It has held up for a year and looks like new.

Now for the contraversity! The harbor freight pinpointer is cheaply built. Mine has lasted for over a year with no problems, but I treat my tools with respect. It cost $16 which is a good return on my investment. It can be taken apart and modified by the user with no problems. I modified mine with a bright blue LED that goes on when it detects metal. It has the same pickup range on a dime as the pro pointer as demonstrated on a video here in the forum. I would say the propointer is better constructed, but they have had a problem with board failures lately. I guess there new saying is don't leave home without two of them. And they cost over $130 each. Don't even think of modding a propointer, you will destroy the switch taking it apart. Allright lets have the flax. Frank

Just a reminder, that all Predator tools are MADE in AMERICA. :headbang:

Pro pointers can't be taken apart... they just give you a new one if it goes bad.
