I’m an Apple TV addict and can’t get enough. I just discovered the shows last spring and binge watched on long rides to see my grandmother (8 hours one way) and when we came to Texas where I live now (3 hours). I’m not a couch potato, but now that I’ve caught up with all the series I find myself living for Thursday night when the new episodes release.
Anyone that enjoys sci-fi or dystopian themes you’ll probably find something that you enjoy, and prepare to be addicted. Here are my favorites-
See- Best show ever, set several hundred years into the future where everyone is blind. I doubt if it will ever happen, but I’d love to have it pick back up with a series about the twins, Maghra, or Tamacti Jun. It was unique and engaging, and a blind guy helped direct it or something, so it was realistic. It was also fun figuring out where they were by the modified names they used for places.
Silo- Based on the book series starting with Wool by Hugh Howey. Awesome show, and Mr Howey himself pops into a Reddit sub I’m in about the series on occasion. (He won’t share spoilers grrrr)
Foundation- Based on the book series by Isaac Asimov, this is one of the best sci-fi shows I’ve ever seen. The world he built is amazing.
For All Mankind- Sci-fi, another great show.
Severance- Sci-fi, I think. I don’t know exactly what it is, but it’s good. And it has Christopher Walken in a supporting role. Who doesn’t want more cowbell?
Slow Horses- About some losers working for MI5. Funny and action packed.
Monarch- I don’t like the Monarch universe for Godzilla, it’s better when he’s just wrecking Tokyo, but the show is good, and it has Kurt Russell (his son plays his young character when the show jumps to the backstory).
Invasion- It sucked. You’ll get hooked the first episode then the second one goes downhill and doesn’t get any better. The only amazing thing about it was how they were able to make it suck so consistently.
The mini series are also excellent, like Black Bird, Five Days at Memorial, Masters of the Air, Servant (creepy as it gets), and the list goes on. Some of them I’ve not been able to complete yet but they are all really good.
Whew, I got on the iPad and got rolling on this post. Sorry so long.
