Can anyone help me date this apothecary or coin weight I found a few years ago? It was found in a colonial era field that has produced many coins and relics from the 1600's-1800's. If I had an accurate scale, I'd weigh it. But my jewelry scale only goes to .1 g.

Definitely a 2 drachm apothecary weight, probably 18th century (or maybe a little earlier). Nice find Jason!

Thanks, Bill. It's from the same site as the Mass Silvers and my hammered, so it very well could be pretty early.

Thanks for the input guys! I was hoping that maybe I cracked into the 1500's for once. Guess I better keep at it.
