My Minelab X-Terra 705 arrived Friday.

I love it!

I was out of work sick most of last week and it rained this morning and I've got plans for tomorrow. Sigh....

I'll get out this week though.

My one of my first observations is that I MUCH prefer using headphones! Without them, I can't hear the machine well enough. I'm using pretty much factory setting 'cept threshold bumped to around 18-19.

My house was built in 1979. I recovered a single memorial cent that was lying on top of the ground LOL!

I love how the MD tells me it is seeing discriminated items by 'blanking out' the hum. Cool.

I'd like to hunt with someone else though so i can hunt, observe, & learn. I've got a location picked out - though it may have already been hit before......who knows (There's another TN'er that lives about 6 miles away).

If you're interested, and don't mind hunting early (Saturday?)....lemme know.
I live just about 5 miles south of Scranton, Pa

Thanks!

Gary,
I'd love to detect with you. I'm no expert but I do have a few years experience.
The problem is that I'm in S.W. Pa. a few miles north of Pittsburgh. I think Scranton is about 5 hours from me.

Here's the spot.

It's an elementary school that closed down in the mid-70's and was around since the early 1900's (I'm not really sure when it was built though.

The B&W pic is what it looked like in 1939.
