I have pleasure in announcing the following:
The Anglo-Danish Maritime Archaeological Team (ADMAT) a specialist non profit maritime
archaeological group has an immediate position available. ADMAT is seeking applicants for
the position of "Maritime Archaeologist" for the continuation of our work in the Dominican
Republic. ADMAT is currently conducting surveys and excavations of historic ship wrecks
on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, for their Government. This is a great opportunity
to join the ADMAT as they continue to protect the Underwater Cultural Heritage in the Caribbean.

This archaeological position is on a monthly renewable contract. Accommodation and
transportation costs will be paid, as well as a salary depending on experience.
The applicant must have a Maritime Archaeological (or similar) degree at MA level or a PhD
and extensive field work experience. The Applicant must be an Advanced diver (minimum of 500
dives) with experience in the use of water dredges, underwater surveying, artifact handling, ship
construction, report writing, photography, draftsmanship, computer programs, (Site Recorder, Excel,
Front Page 2003 & Access) and living in the field. The Applicant must be a Team player with a
"what ever it takes" attitude.
Boat handling will be an advantage as well as experience with AGA masks and underwater communications,
Proton Magnetometers, Side Scan Sonar's, and ROV's.
