Found these two items a while back and hoping one of you may be able to ID. The medal with Napoleon's head on the front is about 1 3/8 inch in length. Seems like it is silver coated, but don't really know what it is made of. The Indian Head may have been pin or belt buckle. It is approximately 1 1/2 inches across and 2 1/4 inches long. I found both within the same vicinity. Not sure if they are the same era or not. The indian head looks like it may have been copper coated at one time. Not sure of the metal. Any ideas of their origin or age would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Going back to this area in the summer, but don't know if I'm looking at the 1950's or something older. The Indian Belt Buckle or pin, I originally thought was a child's belt from the 1950's. I couldn't find anything similar to it online. The Napolean medal is similar to some medals given to French soldiers back in the 1800's, but those all had dates or years on the medals, so thought that this might be a replica, even though it looks old. ???

That Indian head object is very similar to another object posted somewhat recently... folks were trying to figure out if there were words on the headband (finally agreeing that there weren't)... I can't find the previous object, but hope I've jogged the memories of those that might recall what it was, as its quite similar.

Beat me to it NHbenz ;D
I'm not sure if that was solved. I'll check it out, but given that it was from memory, near identical, maybe Loralie posted that one too?

Otherwise, very cool finds.

I found an aluminum medallion that size once but it had Victoria on it and said "Victoria" and "Queen" on either side of the bust. The back had a royal crest with "V.R." (Victoria Regina = Victoria Queen). If I was home in the States I'd post a pic of it. The letters on mine are an identical typeface of yours.

Hi All, Thanks for responding to this post. :). Yes, I posted this a month ago, but only received one response. I have been checking everyday and see all the responses to other posts, so finally decided to pull it off as it was so far down the list. I figured I may as well try it again, so reposted it to get it back to the top again. I absolutely love trying to figure out all the things everyone finds. I'm not very good at it yet, but hopefully will get better which should really help when I'm detecting. The Indian Head is not broken. The back has an indentation for the headband, but no words. The metal is very dark except for little bits of copper color here and there. Maybe I should soak it in something? Any suggestions? The Napolean medal has a small loop at the top which has crumbled a little, but still in very good condition. It seems like it should have a date on it, but unforturnately it doesn't. Thanks so much for looking!!! ;D

About 35 years ago, I got all A's on my report card. This is what my grandma gave me for it. I have no idea where she got it, but I grew up in Maine. So that's all the info I have about it.

Frogwizard,
Wow, your medal looks identical to the one I posted, except mine is silver in color and yours looks gold in color. Your grandma must have thought it was really something special to give it to you for all A's... ;D Hopefully we'll find out something more in a few days. Was your Grandma French? I found my medal on Drummond Island, Michigan. Soldiers occupied the island off and on, including the French, then the English. Thanks so much for responding and showing me your medal. If you find out any more history on the medal, please let me know. Thanks again!!!

Yes, she was French. The second picture came out a funky color but it is the same color as the front. As an adult, I always wondered about where she got it. She is gone now and I never asked her about it. I will definitely let you know if I find out anything. That is so cool that you found one. I have never seen another one till now.
