Anyone use Vibram Fivefingers??

Interesting concept, but boy I bet they must take some getting use to!

I think that they'd be fine for the beach though!

Good luck

Ugh.. I think they are WRONG ...very WRONG. :tongue3:

My son showed me some athletically minded socks with individual fingers like that...gotta say what I feel...they are WRONG! :icon_scratch:

I go barefoot but I will probably get some surf booties (one of these days).

I usually hunt barefoot too. I have foot problems and barefoot feels best but I worry about cutting my feet. These look interesting.

No but I have thought of trying them. I can't hunt bare foot for 6hrs and push that scoop in all day.besides if you drop a SS scoop on a bare foot the toes would take a hit for sure. I have a pair of scuba booties but they tend to fill with sand and chafe the inner arch. If the sand will stay out I would try them. One more thing is a complaint that I hear with these is if they don't fit snug they are very uncomfortable. The sizing chart says if any of your toes are longer than your big toe you will never get a proper fit! The size is measured from you longest toe, which is most commonly is your big toe. But many have a longer toe then there big toe, so they note that they will not fit correctly!

We be Pirates!!

She sure be looking lady like to me?

I wear Birkki beach sandels, other people I know use Croc's. They are pretty tough and very comfortable. Those with the toes do not look healthy for your feet......could cause problems between you toes like skin irritations and abrasions leading to infections.

I use Henderson dive shoes made out of premium neoprene. Quite comfortable and great on hot sand or in the water. I bought them at a local dive shop for $18. They have a good rubber sole, but not a hard sole on them. You can find them at hendersonusa.com

Hey buried crap, thanks for noticing! lol and I think I'd have a problem then cause my 2nd toe is longer!! Those Henderson dive shoes look pretty good.

I use TUSA diving boots...., durable, very comfortable with a sole that is sturdy on the scoop.

Great for sand , mud and water detecting...also great in small rocky areas.

Here's the link http://www.diversdirect.com/scuba/scuba-wetsuits/dive-boots/

The style I use is TUSA IMPREX LOW CUT DIVE BOOT
ID-DS- 2700

scroll down on the pics to see photo of these boots ( center pic)

Hope this helps you

Dive booties all the way! they are so comfortable and the rubber sole is great for pushing your scoop in!

I use Chota Flats boots very durable, good solid sole, year warranty

Hey Lorraine do you need the dive socks ? and does the sand stay out of these ?......HH...Tab.

Hi Tab,

No, I don't use socks

The sand does stay out of the boots..

I also use "SeaSoft Sunrays"....I like them the best ...like the zipper on the side ...and I can hunt in larger rock areas... I consider the SeaSoft to be even more durable than the TUSA.

Here's pics of the SeaSofts

Hope this helps you ..

I dont know how they would be for beach hunting. They were primarily developed for the new trend in barefoot trail hiking.Applachian trail and so forth. Some of the rafting guides in the carolina's use em.I was checking them out about 2 months ago up there.and as you are,was curious how they would be on the beach. The people I spoke with love them, but I'm not quite ready to hump a 50lbpack with them, but the ultralight thru hikers are trying them out.I still think the booties are the best for the surf though
