I might have an opportunity to get a Whites Eagle Spectrum from some people I know, but its in pretty rough shape. It has the rechargeable box and i believe it is shot and I dont know if all it needs is a new one or not. But in case it would need to be fixed, does anyone still fix them?

Might try talking to the Whites people to see if they can rebuild it.

Yep, give Whites a call, Home factory # is 541-367-6121 in Sweet Home, Oregon. Another option on battery pack is, do you have any battery warehouses or that type of business in your area, they rebuilt my Dads pack a couple of years ago, same detector, Eagle Spectrum.

Not sure. I'm not even positive if I'll get it. I wanna buy it, but how much would one be worth if all it needs is a new battery pack?

Whites no longer makes the rechargables I just bought a standard battery box and use rechargables, it works fine this way

I paid $300 for my eagle spectrum, the battery box was another $19 and the batteries were $20

I would use the Nimh rechargeables, they hold a charge much longer than the nickel cadmium. I was really surprised when I started using Nimh in my cordless headphones, they last darn near as long as the alkalines do.

I managed to buy the Eagle Spectrum today...now I just need to buy a new rechargeable pack for it and I should be good
