Anyone Sell Copper Pennies

Welcome to TNet Pennynoob.
I created 7 $50 Bags of 1959 - 1982 from rolls (I gave 1982 cents the drop test to hear a "PING" or "THUD" to sort copper from the zinc. Try it with a pre 82, then with a cent older than 1982 to get the zinc sound. Or you can weigh them.)

Anyway, 2001 I went to a big, local coin show and, as I made my rounds, asked every dealer if they wanted my $50 bags & what would they pay. Most said "No" or "$48 haha, $50 or 51. One said $58. But the keeper said $69/bag.
Good luck.

I keep all of mine for the day that I can sell them. I used to sell them for 2x face but the price of copper went down and my buyer quit buying. Someday the market will be better and I'll have the pennies to sell. :cat:

Same here, Im just waiting for the market to go back,

its not in my way at all, and the few hundred dollars i have tied up in it doesnt really effect me...its always worth a penny.

Take that $300 and buy silver that's a much better way to tie up your money. You can get ?/ 14oz or so your right there worth a penny all day long. I have over 160lbs of worthless penny's. I would love to dump them for a little more. It was a lot of work going in all those boxes.

Or you could do like I was doing and use the profits from selling pennies to double your money and then use that to buy silver. I guess what I'm doing is taking a small part of my savings ( which is drawing almost no interest ) and turning it into something that has the potential to increase in value. My pennies will always be worth face so I can't lose. :cat:
