Found at an old homesite here in central, FL back in '98. I had no idea what it was till I posted it on this forum. Thanks to Treasurenet and Mark Parker I was able to get an ID on it. It's a post traders token from Ft Meade South Dakota. But back in 1879 or so it was known as Dakota Territory. DT on the token. Did a little more research on the internet and found a collector who wanted it very much. I let it go for $1000.
The funny thing about that hunt was I had also found a 1901-O Barber Dime in XF condition and was ecstatic about that! This was only my 2nd full year of detecting so wheats and rosie's were still giving me a thrill! Barbers aren't the easiest coin to find here in central FL but there are plenty out there if ya know where to look!
