I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know what this is from?
It's a little decoration with a rose and butterfly that came up as non-ferrous on my detector. It looks like it's brass plated; the gold color seems to be overtop what looks like iron or tin. It has a little hinge on the wide end and is broken off on the narrow side, I couldn't find the rest. It's quite thin, with the design showing clearly on the back, no writing or marks anywhere that I could tell.
The hinge has me thinking lid, but maybe a clip or some kind of clasp for a book. It came from an area where I've been finding mostly older stuff, that is, not a recently trashed site.
Thanks for looking.
