I dont usually buy asian ceramics, but the detail was really gorgeous!! So for 10$ its a mystery :) I am terrible with Asian Antiques. the front of the vase has a beautiful mountain scene. with lots of markings on the other side. the bottom has a red mark. Photo on 12-29-13 at 2.59 PM.jpg

That's a beauty. I don't know anything about Chinese or Asian porcelain but I do know quality and that piece looks very nice and detailed and because of that fact, I don't think it is your usual run of the mill Chinese crap that is commonly peddled on ebay. I think it's called a poem vase. Is the background white or does it have a pinkish hue to it?

It's white. No pink at all. It looks like transfer and handpainted but I can't tell for sure! For 10$ it was worth researching. The design is fabulous. So detailed. Even has a tiny fisherman in the water

Okay. Yeah, I saw the little guy fishing too. I did a quick look on here- Antique Chinese Porcelain collector's page, Ming, dynasty, porcelain marks but I didn't see the mark offhand. I didn't do a thorough job though, you may want to spend some time there looking.

Wow, I usually am not a huge fan of asian pottery, but that is impressive. That mountain scene is just amazing.

Not sure on the marks, nor value.

If I am correct, the subject and the aesthetics of the art of the pots can drive the prices up. Right?

Thanks to you both! Yes it's beautiful! I have the worst time researching Asian markings. But couldn't pass it up!
