I don't think GH is talking about ordering coins at all the banks, just seeing if they had any in stock. Unfortunately, I live in a small town with just enough banks to visit all on my lunch hour and still pick up food and eat it. I think it would be a great idea and they will probably sell you some if not all the rolls they have just to get rid of them. You might just luck up on a great haul!

I do this in our area all the time. Its really hit or miss to be honest. Some days every bank had some rolls, and some days I end up with only a few hundred in clad. I still haven't hit one of these huge dream scores like you see on here sometimes, but I've come away with 34 40%, 1 90%, and 8 quarters one time. It does get awfully boring on a slow day all by yourself. I would really just say go out and try it.

Can you give me the area (grid) that you work...and I'll be sure to stay out for a bit. Like I said, Im all over due to my commute but I live West Valley and slam that on the weekend. During the week Im Central, and East Valley.

I only get up to the greater Phoenix area once or twice a month, and try to stop at any bank or credit union on the road I'm on. I go different roads each visit. Most of the time either no halves, or a few rolls, very rarely anything good. I make most of my finds in the boxes I get. Get 5 or 6 skunks and then a good box with some silver. I say hit every bank you can and ask, ya just never know what you might find.

Has anyone (from a big city) just hit every bank in site for a couple of hours? Im thinking about googling every bank in a certain area, just looking for CRH's, and going nuts....

Anyone get results by doing this???

you have to have accounts at the banks.
Not exactly. Lots of members here place orders successfully at banks they don't have accounts at. I've done it myself.

If I have time I will usually "fish in the wild" at a few stops. I have so much volume to do that I don't have time to hit them all every week. I work a compressed schedule 9/80 so we get every other Friday off. I usually use that morning as my in town road trip to hit the myriad of banks I frequent for teller loots. Of course whenever you pick up boxes always ask the vault teller to walk the line and check for halves.

I'd say I get 1x40% for every 5 rolls I find in the wild, but you never know what you'll find, solid rolls etc....I haven't been that lucky yet! Most I've ever fished is 5 or 6 pieces at a teller harvest.

Overall I'd say just up your weekly volume if you can and then do a massive "in town hunt" every 2 weeks or so. Also helps to chat with the vault teller and just ask him/her to buy up all the halves from the tellers and you will pick them up weekly or 2xmonth. I get a fair amount of rolls that way to.

Big city little city , it is no different for me , except i save the bent quarters for the meters.
First i google and print a map , then i get a note pad look for coins and take notes. In a shortened way i take all kinds of notes so that i can determine how and when to look next. Needles to say i now have 5 books with maps and notes.
