Anyone interested in old wood cut prints. I have a small collection of authentic early American Newspaper prints from early newspapers. If you were not aware the pictures were drawn by the artist then cut into wood blocks to print in the newspapers, hence wood cut prints.

Series on a civil war soldier, same family in both prints.

First one is called Christmas Eve 1862 By Thomas Nast From Harpers Weekly

Second one is called Christmas Day 1863 By Thomas Nast from Harpers Weekly

Both of my prints are framed and hang on a wall.

It's amazing the detail they got using wood.

It is, especially when compared to the original. I paid $25 for the Christmas Furlough in 1989, have seen it as high as $350 and as low as $100 depending on condition, mine is in very good condition, framed with non acid mat and UV protection glass.
