Looks great to me. 1.4" of rain is great to hear, too.

Congrats on the rain. You guys have had a tough year what with the lack of the wet stuff. Hopefully it's enough to moisten the ground so you can get out digging

VERY nice pic. What camera you use?
:headbang:  :icon_sunny:

Well in my yard its moist 6 inches down or more... so yeah it helped... other places in the area only a few inches...

I use a Sony SLT A55 with a Sigma 18-250MM lens... I love the low light capabilities of it... I recently went from a P&S superzoom to a DSLR (or SLT in this case) camera and its worth the jump to do so!

Thanks for looking and for the comments

Congrats on making it to the 1,000th post :headbang: Glad it happened while replying to my question :laughing7: Good low light capabilities are hard to come by on the prosumer cameras. Looks like yours does a terrific job though  I'm actually going to be getting the Canon T2i soon. Supposedly, the pics & videos are out of this world. BTW, did you use any color correction software for that pic? Photoshop?? There's a tad bit of 'noise' in the photo, still though, it really looks incredible. ESPECIALLY considering you took it during a storm :icon_sunny: Keep up the great photography work & post some other pics soon!

Oh wow I didn't know I was approaching 1000 post... I have deleted a few so it did delay this milestone... as far as the noise and the slight blur, yeah I noticed it too... I think I had my ISO on the wrong setting... it was dark and I couldn't see much.... shooting in the dark is lots different then shooting in the light... which is what the focus is off too try to manual focus on something that isn't there when you set the camera up and is never in the same spot for each shot... its tough... I took dozens and dozens of shots that night and only a few came out good enough to post.

before you buy you may want to use this site.... I compared dozens of different cameras before I decided to go with the A55... http://snapsort.com/compare main reasons is the 10fps that the A55 has (next camera that can do that is $5000) and the video has AF capabilities and IS built into the body of the camera... and lots of other little features that just made the A55 the best choice for me. I wanted the best of both worlds Photos and Video!

It got the camera of the year award for 2010.

it was also in the top 50 new inventions of 2010

I found this out AFTER I made the purchase... so I chose correctly all on my own... how ever it took me 3 months of research to figure this out.

Oh I just found out the Canon EOS Rebel T2i is the runner-up for 2010... and the Nikon D3s but at $5000 I'll pass!
(but WOW! 100k ISO!!!) I am amazed that 2 sub $1000 dollar camera beats the big shot professional cameras.

Very NICE shot, Chukers :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft: !
Storms are good as long as they bring rain with them, huh? That rain is blessed relief after the miserable hot summer we had to endure here in Okla./Texas.

it sure is... we got 1.4 inches with that storm I got off the roof right before it hit... and now its a pleasant 82 degrees... I love it!

Oh uh njnydigger I did not used any Photoshop or any software to modify it... I am one of those odd photographers that makes the camera do the work and don't believe in Photoshop... once you do it there is no going back and to me it kinda feels like its fake. I do see the need for it in certain situations... but I like to keep my photos real.

Yep, the T2i has some of the best pics & video out there. At $750 it's a little steep for my tastes, but, since I'm a film/video nut, I can just write it off as another one of my 'toys'. The Mrs. has her shoes, handbags & expensive lotions & potions, so, I throw that in her face everytime she sees the price of the T2i :laughing7: In terms of the $5,000 cam, not my speed. I'm the type of guy that's happy so long as my truck is running & I can put food on the table :icon_sunny:

Believe it or not Chuke, I've been using the Flip camera for the few hunt videos I've done. I gotta tell ya, it's pretty darned good. I have the HD model. Depending on how one uploads them, the videos are sharp as a razor & crystal clear. I swear by that thing. Good to take in the field too since it only cost $150. I would NEVER take anything more expensive out in the dirt, rain, mud, etc.

Look forward to some more of those awesome pics :headbang: Hope you guys get some more of the wet stuff too. I'll do a rain dance for you

I love a good storm! And good lightening pictures! After the cable went out saturday night, (I swear it went out BEFORE the wind got here) I sat in my truck, listened to college football games on the radio, and absoulutly enjoy a wonderful lightening show! Looked alot like your photo :icon_thumleft:
