It is brass, with a 1/4 inch hole at the top and an a 1 inch hole at the bottom. My first initial thought was maybe a flag tip, but why the second hole if thats the case?? There was an old house that was not to far away from this location, maybe curtain rod end? please help! P.s. there are NO markings on it whatsoever, and it is completly hollow!
 

Id stick with the flagpole tip. . It sounds better..
