Anyone know what this pick is?

I found it 20 ft from a civil war trench, do you think it's civil war period? I've never seen a pick with a hook on it like that.

It looks like a double prong pick axe, or grub hoe. They are still manufactured today.

I can tell you it was definitely Handmade by a blacksmith and it is old enough for the time. Considering you found it next to a trench it's a reasonable assumption that it was used to make the Trench. I would assume it is a civil war Relic
