It is uniface. Do you know if it is paleo or archaic?
 

Old digger is right on this one.....thumbnail scraper!!! john take it and put it in your thumb even put it side by side with your thumb and you will see how they got there name.....................GTP(Chris)

We used to skip those on water or just chunk them before we learned they were actually an every day tool. I now keep every one and enjoy finding them. Unifaced wont date a scraper unless in context. Nice one Jonathan.
 

See how in the first pic it is round at the bottom and shows great detail in the flaking? That is the head of the scraper and as to the narrow part it tappers down, that is where it would of been hafted to a handle. They liked to use bone handles. It would fit into the bone then tied down so the round part would be out. Yours looks like a nice one. GatorBoy is dead on as too the name.
