Is there any writing on it? It might lend us a clue if there is. My first guess is some sort of specialty type bender or clamp for a specific application. I have no clue on what that application might be though.

That really looks like an adjustable base for a laminate trimmer. My Makita routers have detachable edge guides with the same threaded knob. The roller at the end would ride against the edge of the counter top and the cutter in the router would trim the edge. The wings are at a 90 degree angle to allow the cutter to get as close as possible to an inside corner (Typically finished with a hand file).

I have not seen that particular one but I am 100% sure that is what it is.

Hey there Moe2D2 if i am not mistaken that is a corner clamp for doing things like picture frames, i did the google thing and could not find an exact match but some close ones, hope this helps you out!
