ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS EMBLEM IS FROM?

I bought this over 30 years ago and I still don't know anything about it. I mounted it on a piece of walnut long ago for display purposes so that's not part of it. It's made of copper plated iron and you can tell the size from the pictures. Thanks in advance for ant help. P1020077.JPGP1020076.JPG
 

It is a putti, painted in the Renaissance, popular ornament on furniture and wood carvings in Victorian times and later. Most famous are these two painted by Raphael . . .

When I saw the pic I had the Same thoughts as Charlie P. I've seen bookcases and other items with the same type of ornament or carving on them.
