Hey all got these two items today at an old cellar hole. I think I have seen both these items somewhere but cant think of what they are? So maybe someone on here can tell me. The first thing reminds me of a gun barrel, but dont think thats what it is. Its about 4 inches long and one end is flared out. The next thing is made to measure something I guess? I origanly thought it was a piece to a thermometor til I cleaned it now I dont know what it is. This measures about 4 and a half inches long. Any help is much appreciated.

Based on length and shape, your ramrod pipe is the upper pipe from a Brit military musket or early Board of Ordinance Indian gun. 18th century.

Thanks Kuger! Wouldnt the numbers be backwards for a spring scale? I would think the 90 would be at the top and the bigger number would be on the bottom? Thats just a guess. I thought that would be an easy one to ID. Seems its not as easy as I thought.

-I think -- the temp item ---is--- a ""correct " fluids level based upon temp gauge == at (low temp ) 100 degrees the fluid level should be at the low mark -=-at the higher temp level (105 degrees) the expanding liquid should be at the max "high" level --so its a liquids "gauge" for something than ran betweem 100 to 105 degrees * as the normal running temp.

the ram rod tube is spot on IDed--great job guys
