Alrite. I combined a few groups of recent finds here. Summer is finally here, but a few sites that I was just getting into hunting and stuff are kinda gonna be put on hold until the cold comes due to growth and such. I came across a few foundations of some types of structures while on some of my runs through the woods.
I've also been kinda trying what hasn't been tried yet at some of our usual spots and also been spending some time around my old high school and found a few silver items that are pieces of instruments I think.
Here's a few pics of the junk that I dug as well as some pics of the finds from those hunts.
This following hunt has it's own story and pictures. I went to the hammered spot which used to have a carpet of pull tabs. It still does in areas, but I've been working on it. Lots of nice coins have been pulled from this area. I had been hunting and digging trash for 2 hours in the rain and was about to leave when I got a bottle cap type of signal mixed in with surrounding pull tabs.
Pinpointing was pretty useless with so many targets close together so I just dug and was pretty off but found the target which turned out to be a large bronze coin dated 1894. I did some research and read a discussion of people arguing about where it was struck, which countries actually used it, and whether it was minted true to its date or not. I seemed to get the idea that it was from the country of “Indochine” and was produced in China, but was used in Europe, but was later demonetized. Whatever the heck it is, it's pretty cool and interesting. Please enlighten me if anyone knows any truth! lol.
Thanks guys and have a good one!
