Question for the pros:
I live in an area that does have old gold mines not too far away. I found some dense clay speckled with this gold stuff. I dissolved the clay as best I could and rinsed it out until I got down to this mix. It's still a mix of gold-looking dust and some light-colored and dark-colored sand. This photo is of the mix in a cup of water on top of a brass plate and next to my gold wedding band, for perspective. I took the photo on a cloudy day with reflected light from a nearby window.
Any thoughts?
