Clean up the knife and axe head to check for makers marks. It will be much easier to date.

Suspect that the knife is an Imperial Cutlery Bowie knife from the 1950's. The handle looks like bone, but is plastic. The knife used to sell in a display case with their folding knives for about $1-$2. Can't really tell because of the dirt, but the large pins on the handle match the Imperial. Solingen and Westenhome(IXL) bowies had much smaller pins. Check google or ebay for pics. The axe head looks very recent also.

When I was a kid the local hardware store had the Imperial knives on a display board, Your Choice,,$1.99. They made good throwing knives if you warped the handles in black tape. Tony
