Came across some ancient rings for $15 a piece. I bought one I thought looked good. Turned my finger green so it is bronze for sure. Here it is, thoughts??

Here is another really good looking one. I probably should have bought this one because I feel it looked the realest out of them all.

Here are the rest of the rings.

That second one looks like a recent dig.

That's what I was thinking! Looks the most genuine. I am starting to think they are all good. May pick that second one up though. I sent an email to an ancient collector so hopefully he can shed some light.

So I contacted an ancients expert. All of them seem to be real. The best ring of the lot is the second ring. It's an archer's ring in very very good condition. I gotta go back and buy it ASAP will post more pictures when I do. I'll probably get one other ring as well, something that I can wear around like the first one.

The second ring is a Medieval Archers Ring, how did you come by these rings may I ask.

Having worked in a pawn shop I'd be surprised if they even paid $15 for the whole lot.
You might be able to buy the rest even cheaper if you haggle a bit.

Ok so while I was looking for an Medieval archer's ring for myself on eBay, I came across several reproductions (only posted in the fine print that most won't notice) and they were very much like the one in the 2nd picture. Actually there were scads of rings just like the others in your pictures too and they were also reproductions. People were even selling the old looking molds to make them! The good news is that you can find authentic medieval, archer's rings for around $300.00 mostly from the U.K. I'm going to buy one and I'll know the right one for me the second I see it! :icon_thumright:

I have found a ring like yours. I don´t know the origin of it or the material from which is made of. Can somebody give me an ID? Thanks!WhatsApp Image 2020-11-24 at 14.14.00 (1).jpegWhatsApp Image 2020-11-24 at 14.14.00 (2).jpegWhatsApp Image 2020-11-24 at 14.14.00.jpeg

Good morning and welcome to the forum. I see where this is your first post. This is a very old thread and you may not get a response. Go to the help I.d. my finds section of the forum and title your question with something like " is this an archers ring " Than give a brief description of where and how you found it. You will get better results.

I finally knew the answer to the second ring and you all beet me to it! :)
It is a thumb ring for shooting a horse bow on the right side of the bow using your thumb as the release rather than Mediterranean 3 finger style. It protects your thumb from chafing.
It looks very old to me ! Small in size and I doubt it’s a kids or woman’s thumb ring!
Excellent find spartcom5! Is alive!!!
