Anyone hunt where there is horse creek chert?

It is in my area but i do not find it I do not think the natives did either :dontknow: They wanted fort payne chert and hornstone.

I don't buy points but I wish I could put a horse creek point in one of my cases.

What color is it? I have found some cool colors but dont know the types of material.

Ill check, any of these? All personal finds. Let me know maybe we can do a trade.

Now that I see that I would say no I do not. I have found 1 point that is black with a white line running through it. Very pretty but it is only half and the tip is missing. I got the lower half it. It is one of my best Heart Breakers I have ever found and am still looking for the other half.

Now I do a piece that is not worked it is natural and would love to find some in artifacts but so far I havent. If anyone knapps this would be a nice piece for them.

Here is a horse creek dovetail that would have been spectacular before it had a run in with whatever broke it. I might have to get this one restored.

It's worth mentioning that there some new quarries of the material that have opened up (road cuts I think) that look slightly different than the old material. I'm not one of them, but some of the collectors who chase this material can tell some modern pieces just by the type of stone. (There are also modern pieces made from material from the original quarry as well as many rechips of old pieces.)

I have a friend that hunts the HCC in his area, he sends me boxes of it at times. I like to cab tis rock, it takes a great polish , not all pieces have the good colors

Always have been fond of the horse creek chert artifacts. Theriverwalker on YouTube has some killers made of it. Nothing like that around here. Was wondering if anyone has some personal finds of this colorful chert.

I have found this type in Texas
