Heading back to Melbourne Beach next month and will try my luck near the 1715 beaches.
Anybody here in Ill hunted there or had any success?
I realize the known wrecks are S. of Sebastian Inlet but read recently there has been a wreck found in Melbourne that few think maybe part of the fleet.
Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful

Yeah, I went down to Vero Beach a couple years ago. I didn't have too much luck. I found a quarter :P

However, if you've got a good detector and the weather is nice, I say go for it.

Keep in mind that with recent dredging, whatever was four feet down is now probably nine feet down. But it's worth a shot.

BTW, in Vero there's a great seafood place called the Ocean Grill. 1050 Beachland Avenue. Best fish I've ever had. Go there.

Hi Todd,

I never have hunted down there, but it's definitely on my "one of these days" list. If I had the money or vacation time I'd leave for Florida tonight to get away from the global warming that's barreling down on us. Maybe someone in the Florida section of the forum can give you some tips.
I envy you ! :icon_sunny:
