Anyone have the Garrett Treasue Ace 250 or White's Prizm 2? Narrowing it down

I am narrowing down to two detectors...I think. I was originally only going to spend $100, but after some advice from people hear and reading up on the net, I decided to bump it up to no more than $200. I think the Garrett and the White's will give me the most bang for the buck and still sticking with a trusted name. Does anyone have either machine that they can shed some light on? They are both available for $200. Any help would be great, I will need to order soon for Christmas.

cmlmich,
No contest, the Ace 250 is the absolute best buy for $199.00.

I bought an Ace 250 last week and have had it out twice. I have been VERY impressed so far. I've owned White's, Tesoros, and Bounty Hunters and have been detecting for about 6 years combined. I've never seen a detector come close to the performance of the 250 for less than $500. In two fairly short hunts, I came away with 9 quarters, 11 dimes, 6 nickels, 78 cents, and 3 pieces of jewelry (two silver, one costume). It is a very sensitive detector and it detects stuff that my IDX Pro can't so it should be great even on small gold. If you do get one, be sure to run the sensitivity at about 4-5 bars.

The notch works great on the 250. I didn't dig any pulltabs unless I was in jewelry mode. Trash is pretty easy to pick out as the TID is very accurate. Coins always give a very solid locked target. Here are my finds from the two hunts with the Ace 250.

Thanks for the info Steve. I have a DFX but have been considering one of the new Treasure Ace 250s for my wife. I have a Garret Treasure Ace 300 but because of lack of pinpointing she seems to always end up with my DFX when we go out together. I try to explain to her that I have found lots of coins with the 300, but I'm hoping a new 250 might pry her paws off my DFX. Crossing my fingers at least! :-\

Thank you so far for everyone's help on buying a new detector. So far I am leaning towards the Treasure Ace 250. I know I found it on KellyCo for $199 w/ free shipping, but does anyone know of a place that sells it for that and throws in any freebies?? I found it on Ebay for that with a carry bag , light headphones, apron and a couple of books, it is from a place called Detection.com, I have never heard of them. Any help to find other places to buy would be very helpful....again thanks for everyone's input so far. :)

No problem, Mark ;D I've had a DFX as well and if she likes it, she will like the 250.

i don't know of anyone giving freebies with the 250 at $199. I've seen several that do at $249. I bought mine without the freebies since I have enough accessories to open a store practically :o
